Game Report (From the One We Didn’t See): Dodgers 4, Rangers 3

OF Nelson Cruz, who was making his return to the club after spending 10 days with the Dominican Republic’s World Baseball Classic entry, and OF Josh Hamilton each homered for the Rangers. But the team still fell in a walk0ff loss that will probably be more remembered in Los Angeles as Manny Ramirez’s first game back with the Dodgers.

The Rangers didn’t retire Ramirez in any of his three plate appearances (he was 1-for-1 with a walk) but still were tied at three with the Dodgers going to the bottom of the ninth. RHP Thomas Diamond, who could be among the first players sent to minor league camp early next week, walked leadoff hitter Jason Repko and that led to trouble. Repko stole second and went to third when C Adam Melhuse’s throw was errant. He scored on Delwyn Young’s one-out single.
