Another InsideCorner Amenity: Free Ticket; Bob Sturm Joins Bald Bevy Of Beat Bloggers

baldThis week, the Rangers will try to sign OF Josh Hamilton to a multi-year extension to keep the power in the middle of  their lineup for years to come. Guess they are just following the lead of your little Corner of the world. We just inked our own cleanup hitter to provide big-ticket analysis, heavy-hitting thoughts and clutch sports talk.

Welcome to the club, Bob Sturm.

BULLETIN: Excuse us for the bloggus interruptus, but I’ll be joining Bob and the BaDD Radio boys (the Double “Ds” are for Dan McDowell and Donnie-Doo. Maybe someday we can enhance that to Triple “Ds” with, you know, the third D, standing for D Magazine). And now back to our announcement.

Sturm, long-time co-host of BaD Radio on KTCK-1310 AM “The Ticket,” has been blogging for more than four years on everything sports-related in Dallas. Now, he’s going to add his take to our growing team. On hockey, he and Jeff Miller give us a strong set of wings. On basketball, he’ll post up Zac Crain and fellow baldy Eric Celeste (we are now working on a sponsorship with Hair Club for Men). On baseball, you gotta like the double play combination of Sturm-to-Hindman-to-Grant. And on football, he’ll be our own T.O., er, Tony Romo, er, Brett Favre, oh, dang it. He’ll be our big-time playmaker. His post-Cowboys game dissections are legendary.

You get the point: Sturm knows his sports.  And he’s not afraid to shout you down in a sports argument. There’s a reason they call him “Sports Sturm” and “The Sturminator.” We hope you won’t be intimidated by this sports bully when it comes time to discuss his hot sports opinions.

Our goal is to be a full-time sports blog/website dedicated to Dallas sports (with a strong emphasis on baseball coverage). Even if we may have to occasionally educate Bob on the finer points of baseball, we think he’s only going to make our lineup stronger and our discussions livelier.

Groovy news. Sport’s Sturms blog is daily read (at least on weekdays) for me.

  • MA Gunter

I guess that explains the changes to Bob’s Blog. Great addition to the lineup.

  • Jared

Wow…it’s like this blog is made-to-order. The best Ranger beat guy, the best in-depth minor league voice, and my leader, Sports Sturm.

    Fantastic news.

  • Jared

Oh, and this means Sturm and MJH can argue on a single blog now. Greatness.

  • Gdawg

Is Sturm going to actually pay attention to the Rangers now?

  • t ball

Good for the blog overall, though frankly I don’t think he adds much to Rangers discussion.

  • Dirk Diggler

Um cool I suppose. Just make sure you don’t let him do that “Is a Fern better than JD?” bit again — what a piece of garbage that was.

  • Josey Wales

Sturm = A very good add and I liked the “Is a fern better than JD” bit mucho.

  • boomer1

I second that Dirk. What a give up that was.

  • boomer1

You would Josey. Now go crawl back under your rock.

  • MT

    Gay or not gay? Hmmmm….

  • Rodney

    @gdawg – lol!

  • Big Cat

Can I stick my tongue down your throat?

  • Josey Wales

Sturm, Stay strong and be just as honest with this team as you are on your show.

    He’s just gonna rip ‘em!!!!

  • EdC

    Huh ? Really, huh ?

  • BillyW

Well, I guess you can never have too much hockey talk. Wait, I’m wrong. You can have too much hockey talk. Please stay away from baseball posts. Its obvious you dont care about the great game and know even less about it
