Post-Game Show: Orioles 8, Rangers 5

Two things the Rangers can’t do this season:

1. Waste big leads.
2. Waste big offensive days.

The Rangers have done the former twice, including Sunday when they blew a 5-1 lead. They have done the latter once, losing to Baltimore 10-9 on April 13. Right now those three games stand between the Ranegers and a winning record. Had they won two of those three, they would now find themeslves at 10-10 instead of 9-11 9-9 instead of 8-10 (thanks, Chris).

too many BB… I took note of BB/K ratio and 5/2 is really poor

that and leaving guys on base. even if our relievers, or starters for that matter, have problems, if we were more efficient getting the runners around the bases, it wouldn’t feel so dire.

My. Grunt, I believe we are 8-10 and had the opportunity to go 9-9.

I’m always amazed at everyone buying into the Rangers at the start of every season. I admit to doing it as well. But when you look at this team compared to the team from last year, it’s pretty much the same, especially from a pitching standpoint. And if pitching is the issue here (and it is and always has been) and the Rangers fail to add any significant pieces, then how should anyone realistically expect this team to have a winning record? The schedule this month was supposed to allow the Rangers to have a winning record but they are two games back. What’s going to happen when we start playing teams besides Baltimore and Cleveland? This is just another frustrating loss from a frustrating franchise.

If the Rangers had won 2 of the games they have lost, wouldn’t they be 10-8?

I’m not giving up on the Rangers……I think we’re only about five pitchers short of being contenders……so cheer up that means we’ve got seven pitchers worthy of being on the roster and that’s better thn some years……
Hey Mr Hicks……see how close we are and you were such a twit in the offseason to not get any bullpen help…….shame, shame on you……

  • Chris

    Fire Hicks!

FA relievers suck big time… 2009 FA’s weren’t the exception. Bullpens are made within. You FA when you need a piece or two, but besides K-Rod everything was waste.

My bullpen isn’t giving me any concerns. I think my bullpen has been doing a good job,” he said. “It got us today. No concern here.”

Wash you are just flat killing me with these post game comments…….You are becoming the Forest Gump of Baseball with these stupidisms…….
We have BIG PROBLEMS in our bullpen……it’s a fact…..don’t try to make that excrement smell like perfume……..

  • Chris

No your right….lets have the manager of our team throwing the pitchers in the bullpen under the bus by saying they all blow nuts. Most of them already know so the best thing for Washington to do is show confidence in them. Publicly and internally. Smart move Wash.
