Post-Game Show: Rangers 3, Angels 0

Is it just me or do you hear a buzzing sound?

Thanks to a seven-game winning streak, the Rangers are now nine games over .500 at 23-14. It is tied with 1991 for the third best 37-game record in club history.

Having swept the Angels, the Rangers now lead the AL West by 4.5 games. It’s the eighth season in club history the club has led by at least 4.5 games.

You can discuss Josh Hamilton’s catch, Scott Feldman’s start, Darren O’Day’s four-out save or the overall first-place/winning streak buzz.

Great, great win for the Rangers!

Did Chris Davis break his consecutive game K streak???

  • Chris

    “I love the Rangers!”

  • Fred

What’s up with Hamilton? Ribs again? Shoulder? Other?

Obviously I’m hesitant because of the history of this team, but it’s hard not to be getting jazzed by this club.

Someone said it earlier this week and I’m starting to believe it: Just like Tampa Bay was a youth movement team who ended up being a year ahead of schedule, maybe the Rangers are too.

    - Josh: Just gets off the DL, hits 4 home runs, a bunch of RBIs and and a STELLAR defensive play. Props.

    - Wash: Just pushing all the right buttons right now. Whether leaving Harrison/Padilla in longer than he should/you’d think he would, starting Omar today, who gets a clutch triple or sticking with O’Day, his team is making him look good.

    - Offense: They win with small ball or the long ball in this homestand. Really great.

    - Pitching: Superlatives… I’m running out of them.

I have no dobut this Angels team is gonna get healthier and will challenge us right back, which makes it all the better that the Rangers took it to them now while they could.

This reminds me of the 4-game sweep at the end of the 1996 season – except then I didn’t have the internet, so to listen I would sit in Dad’s pickup truck in the driveway listening to KRLD.

Is this a dream? I’ve been a Rangers fan since 1991 and can’t remember the last time I felt this good about the team…probably the late 90′s…but that was so long ago!!!

Good win today guys….way to battle and to finally figure out Weaver near the end of the game!

  • Rangerette

I’ve got a heavy case of Ranger Fever. I’m hallucinating 23 in the W column. I think I need to see Dr Pepper.

  • Last of the Romohicans

There’s 23 flavors in Dr. Pepper, Rangerette.

Feldman trivia…..in this 13-3 month Feldman is 1-0 with 2 no decisions that the bullpen won and one blown bullpen save…….

Harrison 3-0 with 2 complete games

Padilla 2-0 with 2 1 hitters and bullpen win on other start

Millwood 2-1 with no bullpen help on his loss

McCarthy 1-1 with a bullpen win on his no decision

Feldman keeps the team in the game but always requires bullpen help…..

  • Time to Roll

Championship teams win games like this … just sayin’ …

Hope Josh will be OK, with the off day tomorrow, for the series in Detroit …BMac, Harrison and Millwood … keep it rolling, guys … no let-up now …

  • Rangerette

OMG, and I’m 23 years old. triple 23s.

@Buck, Davis broke his K streak the other day against the M’s, same game as his walk off I believe.

  • Clinton V.

It’s mid-May and not only is there hope, there’s belief.

I’m going to wait until the All-Star break before choking to death on the cherry-red Kool-Aid, but man this ride has been fun thus far.

  • Dylan

    @JustSayin – That’s ok for your 5th starter, no?

  • JustSaying

@Dylan Actually Feldman would be my 4th starter in a 7 game series…….”IF” that decision had to be today……..I still like WonderBoy in the bullpen “for now”

  • Bob Bland

This just might be the Rangers squad that wins their first-ever playoff series. And if not this year, very soon: http://bobbland.wordpress.com/2009/05/17/rangers4real/
