D-tails: Dodgers 3, Rangers 1

ARLINGTON - From the press box, when the bank of lights atop the first base side of Rangers Ballpark in Arlington failed Saturday night, the field looked like just about any minor league stadium. To the naked eye, it was darkish, but not pitch black.
To the players, it was a disaster waiting to happen.
Rangers third baseman Michael Young said the field became too dark to play safely and concurred with umpiring crew chief Charlie Reliford’s decision to pull the clubs off the field with a scoreless tie after five innings. After a 1:41 delay, the broken breaker was fixed, light was restored and the teams resumed with new pitchers. Los Angeles went on to a 3-1 win.
Three up and three down from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington Saturday night:
Three Up
• RHP Scott Feldman pitched five masterful innings. On a night when the lights went out, he burned brightest.
• RHP Darren O’Day pitched another scoreless inning, lowering the ERA of perhaps the greatest waiver claim in Rangers history to 1.02.
• Oncor got something fixed fairly quickly, all things considered.
Three Down
• The 1:41 minute light failure was an absolute nightmare and changed the complexion of the game.
• LHP Eddie Guardado and RHP Jason Grilli let Feldman down, allowing runs in consecutive innings.
• Rangers have scored one or no runs in three of the last four games.

In case, you are just joining us, a bank of lights on the first base side has failed. We have been in an electrical failure delay since 8:17 p.m. and are now approaching one hour without power to the lights.
We’ll have more on The Depot blog.
The lastest schedule for RHP Frank Francisco is that he will pitch a “ramped-up” session in the bullpen on Sunday and, like everybody in the clubhouse, get an off day on Monday. The Rangers will re-evaluate him on Tuesday. If he’s ready to pitch Tuesday, the club will have saved two days off a DL assignment. But, manager Ron Washington has also indicated that Francisco might return in a low-pressure, non-closing appearance or two before resuming the role of closer. So, one way or another, it appears they will go without Francisco as the clsoer for at least 15 days.

4:42: You are cordially invited to a pool party.
4:48: Locally, it’s been reported that Andruw Jones has no animosity towards the Dodgers. Maybe not, but in L.A, the reports are he has plenty of the stuff for Dodgers owner Frank McCourt.
4:57: Angels manager Mike Scioscia hinted at some changes earlier this week when his team was routed in Tampa Bay. Well, they made a big one after Friday night’s win over San Diego, sending 2B Howie Kendrick to Triple-A. Question: Will sending out a veteran jolt the Angels awake or is Los Angeles simply grasping at straws?
Update: 4:27 with lineup
Maybe with a Home Run Pina Colada, too. Go ahead jump in and play.
Weekly rules refresher: To be eligible to win free stuff, you must pick the first Ranger to homer, the inning and the number of men on base. First tie-breaker is the count; second is the distance. We’ll add the lineup when we get it. For now, just jump in blind. That way you won’t get chlorine in your eyes.
UPDATE: Here’s your lineup against Dodgers LHP Randy Wolf, who is allowing left-handed hitters an .089 batting average this season – 2B Ian Kinsler, 3B Michael Young, DH Andruw Jones, RF Nelson Cruz, LF David Murphy, CF Marlon Byrd, 1B Chris Davis, C Jarrod Saltalamacchia, SS Elvis Andrus and pitching for the Rangers … RHP Scott Feldman
Triple-A: Oklahoma City 6 @ New Orleans 4
RHP Tommy Hunter (2-2; 4.34) gave up back-to-back solo shots to open the second inning, but otherwise scattered just five other hits and walked one in seven innings, fanning six to get his second PCL win of the season.
1B Royce Huffman homered in a 2-for-3 outing to drive in a pair of runs and LF Casey Benjamin hit a solo shot for his only hit in four trips. C Max Ramirez had a two-run single for his only hit in five trips and CF Julio Borbon went 1-for-5 from the top of the order.
