@haiku man: I see real coffee-table book potential; "162 Thoughts on Ranger Baseball"

Congrats to Pudge, and kudos to the fans for the ovation. Pudge was a huge catalyst in the late '90s revolution, so that's the least we could've done for him. How fitting he produced the only run via the notorious Arlington homer, something he used to do with frequency.

As for Millwood: contract year or not, you're a bad*ss. Keep it up.

@robm: how, exactly, did milton bradley screw everyone up last year?
Also, give davis a break! He is working hard and doing better. Yes, it was a step back tonight, but he is getting there. Remember: he is 23 years old! When you play youngsters, they are going to struggle. You have to let them work through it. We will reap the rewards in the long run.

I think the Rangers need to invite Davis to take a refresher course in Oklahoma City. He is such a hole in the lineup.

what a game. and i'm happy for pudge getting homer 301 on the night he tied the record. he did give me warm fuzzy memories back in the day and it's fun that he had a night in front of a lot of folks that are still his fans.

Take a look at Kinsler's splits this year before tonight's game. Vs LHP .342/.391/696 Vs RHP .222/.316/.421. Compare that to last year when Ian was .281/.347/.481 Vs LHP and .332/.385/.530 against righties. Two years ago he was .339/.425/.574 vs LHP and .239/.333/.399 VS RHP.

Any ideas for the such dramatic shifts against a side?

1. I told my Jack tonight (kid is a month shy of 7 and is a Ranger superfan, who really knows his stuff -- very proud pop!) that Millwood is the MVP so far. His response? 7 wins is amazing and he's pitching like an ace!

2. I would rather have Nick Johnson over Derosa. I don't think it would cost any more in prospects and the Nats would love to shed his $5MM salary. He's a lefty, but I still take the better hitter. Mark DeR would also be nice, but hate to give much for him.

3. What about Garret Atkins? Would you move Chris for him? 2 young, inexpensive players that are having DOWN years? Maybe a change of scenery for each? I throw this more out there just because it sounds shocking. I can't imagien this would be a really possibility. But part of a larger trade with Hawpe and Street? I'm telling you - watch the Rockies.

How about we do what Evan suggested with Norm today, go and get Mark DeRosa to play first? I would think he could be had for a couple of mid level prospects.
