@scooper: If you are still reading, you have an answer, though, somewhat convoluted, in a new blog post. Bottom line: Time was never called and a new ball was never put into play.

@AB: I didn't see your comment, but I think you may be on to something there, though, having watched Byrd compete, if he's swinging with less discipline than in the past, it's not something he is consciously trying to do.

10:08: That’s six of 11 inherited runners Jennings has allowed to score. He is not the guy to bring in with men on base.

10:22: Question: Rangers appear headed for their fifth straight loss. What do you consider a significant losing streak in baseball? Four games? Five games? At what point does it become a significant number?

10:30: Elvis Andrus just got thrown out on an Elvis Andrus-caliber play. No wonder he disputed the call. Just like so many guys he’s thrown out this year, it’s hard to believe a ball hit where it was could be turned into an out. Great play by J.D. Stephen Drew in the hole at short.

10:38: If you were going to ask, no, I’ve never seen a run score on a wild throw from the catcher back to the pitcher. I mean, if you aren’t counting Little League.

11:00: I’m wondering if there will be a team meeting tonight. Five games. Sloppy loss. But I probably jump the gun on the time for a meeting.
