Unfortunately, the sweepstakes’ fine print says, “open only to legal residents of the state of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas…”. Great for most of the folks here, but those of us who live in other parts need not apply, apparently.

@Pigskinnie: I largely agree that the voting should be based on statistics *in an ideal world*. However, fans of the Usual Suspects (NYY, Boston, LAD, etc.) have proven time and again that they are equally as capable of voting the team rather than the deserving.

So, why should we give up a chance to get another Ranger in the All-Star game (thus raising our profile), when we’re already mostly behind the 8 ball anyway against fans of those other teams? If I could be guaranteed that EVERYONE would vote according to stats, then I would do so as well. However, that ain’t gonna happen.

I love the Rangers, and I love Ian. But there is no way in H-E-Double Hockey Sticks that he should be on the all star team in 2009. He hasn’t hit the ball in 2 months. Vote for Figgins or Inge.

I’m torn. I’d like to see Kins in the game but I would much rather him get some REST so that the fatigue that he is experiencing right now is not an issue in the beginning of the second half.
