Don’t panic. Evan will be along in a bit. In the meantime, I’ll unlock the doors and let you to shoot as you like.

I’ll also keep an eye on the Tigers-Red Sox, with Boston throwing Junichi Tazawa.

6:40 Tigers struck for three in the first at Fenway.

7:03: Youkilis was plunked in the second and ejected.

7:05: Tigers starter Rick Porcello tossed, too.

7:10: Jason Bay three-run homer ties the game.

7:42: A Mike Lowell HR in the third gives Boston a 4-3 lead.

8:12: Another Lowell HR, two-run shot in the fifth, to increase the Red Sox’s lead to 6-3.

8:36: Rain delay at Fenway top of seventh.

  • Brandon in Orlando

Big series as we need to take at least 2 here. Lets get it going . . .

  • Rangers Fan

    Hello all…oh wait, no one’s here yet…

  • scooper

Hey, guys! Time for a win!

  • Rangers Fan

Hey sccooper! How was the off day?

  • Brandon in Orlando

Don’t know why Wash continues to hit a .224 hitter 4th but it’s starting to get old and could be costing the team at some points . . .

  • Rangers Fan

What’ even more old is his smirk after striking out…

  • scooper

    @RangersFan: Quiet. How was yours?

  • scooper

I am psyched about Martin Perez going to Frisco! How do y’all feel about that?

  • Rangers Fan

    That…was not good.

  • John O

Walks two straight batters and hamilton swings at the first 2 pitches! Moneyball Hambone…Moneyball!!!

  • Rangers Fan

haha me too…yes, I’m pumped. Have they announced his first start officially? Newberg said tomorrow is his normal day, hope they keep him on schedule!

  • scooper

I haven’t heard it announced officially, yet.

  • The Beer Guy

    Howdy folks!

  • Rangers Fan

    Hey Beer Guy…

  • Brandon in Orlando

Very excited about Perez and where he’s headed.

  • Brandon in Orlando

    2-0 Det still in the top of the 1st . . .

  • scooper

Hey, Beer Guy! How’s it going?

  • The Beer Guy

    Hypothetical question for you:

Let’s assume we make the playoffs (I know, but just let’s assume for now). Who are our starting three pitchers in the first round? Millwood, Feldman, and…? Think it will depend on how Hunter/Holland/Nippert/(BMac?)/acquisition? are going at that time?

  • scooper

I do not believe that it will be B-Mac. I would rank the other 3: Holland, Nippert, Hunter, but, yeah, it would depend on how they are pitching at the time. Playoffs are still a ways off.

  • Jack Daddy

    hey all

@Beer Guy – I would guess Hunter, but Holland could change that with an off-the-chart last 6 weeks. Plus, Holland would be a nice bullpen weapon from the left side.

  • Bill G

I am sick of all the excuses for “Salty.” The throw was bad and his time to get it away was bad. Just not say anything instead of making up stuff to move the problem away from “the worlds greatest, improved, catcher.”

  • scooper

… and Feldman isn’t a given. I think the other 3 have more potential to dominate a game, especially Holland and Nippert. And Holland and Hunter have shown they can go deep in games.

  • Rangers Fan

Yeah, I would agree between the young guys, who’s playing best. I doubt it’s B-Mac though…in other news, I wish Chris Davis would come back soon…

  • scooper

@JackDaddy: Unless Holland tanks between now and the playoffs, there is no way he is going back in the ‘pen.

  • Win's Dad

    3-0 Detroit lead now

  • scooper

@RangersFan: I’m with you on CD. I’m kind of thinking that he’ll come back when Cruz is able to play.

  • Rangers Fan

Also, that was not that bad of a throw…Salty has been pretty impressive behind the plate in my opinion. If a player gets a good jump, they’re going to get the base.

  • Longhorns0707

Do you guys realize that the Angels, who are second in SB in the league ran twice against TT and stopped after both were thrown out? I love the way Salty has improved but TT’s arm should merit more playing time

  • Rangers Fan

Idk…Wash seems to have fallen in love with the vet, ie: Andruw Jones. What is Blalock’s avg since the break…isn’t it pretty hideous?

  • scooper

@longhorns: If Salty’s arm doesn’t improve, TT will get more time. As it stands now, they have told Salty that he is the starter. They won’t change that unless they can blame it on an injury, and the shoulder (poor throwing) would qualify.

  • Rangers Fan

Also, the season as a whole, Salty has has the stronger, more accurate arm.

  • The Beer Guy

Yeah, I can’t see BMac either. I’d say at this point it would be Hunter, Holland, Nippert. I don’t think you can leave Feldman out with his record and pretty good ERA (4.01), but you’re right he lacks the ability to pitch as deep as some of the others (which isn’t a bad thing necessarily in the playoffs, he could be spelled by one of the non-starting starters).

  • Jack Daddy

@scooper – i agree in the regular season. but if he doesn’t make the 3 man rotation for the divisional series, he would have to pitch out of pen.

listen to us – talking about playoff rotation! dorks!

  • scooper

@RangersFan: I don’t know what it is, but it isn’t good.

  • The Beer Guy

Hank is hitting .211 with 4 HR, 13 RBI, zero walks and 27 Ks since the ASB….ouch

  • juboon

“…herdin’ cows the size of schnauzers but they’re cattle…” greeat. now I’ll have that in my head the whole night

  • The Beer Guy

That doesn’t exactly bode well for his whole “I need more playing time” argument, eh?

  • Rangers Fan

Well, that’s better than I thought. Last time I heard the stat it was below .200.

  • scooper

    @beerguy: good point.
@JackDaddy: if Holland pitches like he has recently, (2 out of 3 super starts), there is no way he isn’t starting in the playoffs.

  • Jack Daddy

I’m ready to see Davis again. I understand the desire to let him settle in down there though.

  • juboon

Still can’t get over how Holland pwned the Angels the other night. Y’all hear that comment about how no rookie’s ever had those stats against them, ever?

  • Rangers Fan

    The CD stretch is missed…

  • juboon

Agreed, JD, I’m missin’ me some Gumby at first.

  • scooper

If the Rangers believe that Chris is a major part of the future, they have to get him back up here BEFORE the September call-ups. Otherwise, their statement that he was being sent down to straighten himself out just doesn’t wash.

  • Rangers Fan

The question is…who’s roster sport does he get? German and Borbon will go down for Kinsler and Grilli.

  • Win's Dad

Andruw .200, 3 HR, 4 RBI in 55 AB’s since break before tonight

  • scooper

I don’t think so. They don’t want an 8-man ‘pen. One of the pitchers will have to go to reactivate Grilli. Borbon will go down when Cruz can play. That is when I think they bring Chris back. German goes when Kinsler can play.

  • Fox

@RF: They may keep one of the position players for depth and send down Mathis

  • scooper

    …just my opinion!

  • Last of the Romohicans

Are you guys thinking we have this wrapped up with a week to go in order to set the rotation the way Wash wants?

I’m thinking it probably goes to the end. Also, Feldman better be a lock.

  • Rangers Fan

But without Mathis they are without a longman…Also, for what it’s worth, I trust Mathis a lot more than Jennings. He has shown very little the past few weeks.

  • scooper

@last: I think it goes doen to the end. And Feldman is probably a lock, just not necessarily #2. And he still needs to keep pitching well.

  • scooper

I’m not at all sure that Mathis would be the one to go.

  • Rangers Fan

Who do you think it would be?

  • Fox

2009 Rangers: Cleanup hitter’s best skill is taking walks. Leadoff hitter’s best skill is hitting homeruns. Interesting year.

  • scooper

I don’t know who THEY would choose, but my choice would be Jennings.

  • Rangers Fan

    Pitcher’s who won’t go:
    CJ
    Frankie
    O’Day
    Eddie
    Grilli
    Feliz

    soo mathis or jennings?

  • scooper

…unless they are planning on bringing him back next year. And I really hope that they aren’t!

  • Rangers Fan

Mine too…but I’m not sure they would do that.

  • Rangers Fan

Man, that was a good hold to a single though…I often forget how great of an arm he has.

  • Fox

I said Mathis because that was the rumour before the sent Padilla packing. I like Mathis but I do think with Wash’s preference for vets that he would choose Jennings over him.

  • Fox

But it is a great problem to have when a guy like Jennings is the weak link in the bullpen

  • The Beer Guy

Barring an injury before it becomes necessary, I would agree that it would be Mathis.

  • scooper

Yeah, but Mathis has been pitching great. Jennings, not so much.

  • Rangers Fan

But if you send down Mathis…you have no long man!

  • scooper

Nippert is throwing a lot of pitches – 48 with 0 outs in the 3rd.

  • Fox

    Trouble…

  • Win's Dad

Rain delay in Boston. Det still leads 3-0, bottom 2.

  • scooper

either Jennings or Feliz would become the long man.

  • Rangers Fan

I am so tired of the oversized elbow guards…

  • Fox

    Nippert has lost the command

  • The Beer Guy

Speaking of Mathis, might be seeing him shortly.

  • scooper

Well, Nippert is not taking advantage of his opportunity.

  • Rangers Win in 2010

@scooper, I remember reading once a rule of thumb for pitch counts: 15 per inning. Which would be about 7 innings = 105 pitches.

So 53 with only 2 innings is a bad sign. Glad they had the day off yesterday and the bullpen is rested.

  • Rangers Fan

Somehow I feel that, somewhere Vicente Padilla is having a laugh.

  • scooper

Yeah, and that 15/inning is the HIGHEST that you want.

  • Rangers Win in 2010

    Good one @RangerFan

  • Rangers Fan

    Take him out…

  • Fox

This is old school Ranger pitching. Now we need old school ranger hitting.

  • scooper

If Mathis isn’t already up, he needs to get ready.

  • Last of the Romohicans

@RF – Somehow I feel that, somewhere Vicente Padilla is having a Bud.

  • Fox

    Take him out!

  • S. Arcasm

Is there anyone up in the bullpen yet?

  • Fox

Is Ron waiting for another hit?

  • Rangers Fan

yikes…he looks simply horrid…let’s get surfing the waiver wire. Not Smoltz…

  • Ryans Dad

    This sucks

  • The Beer Guy

Here we go again! Take 2 of 3 @ LA, and now scuffling against the 48-63 Indians, and Laffey looks brilliant so far. We really need to stop this maddening tendency to lower our game.

  • Gunter

gonna have to score some runs tonite….

  • Auditor

Out of curiosity, what is the largest comeback for the Rangers this year? Seems to me once they fall behind the plate discipline (yes the little they have) is ruined for the night.

Just wanted to know if anybody remembers the biggest comeback so far this year….

  • Fred

Rap on Nippert has always been inconsistency.
Also, bad thing happen when you strand 5 men in 1st 2 innings.

  • Rangers Fan

Too bad…he gets to play pretty close to home tonight anddd things go awry.

  • The Beer Guy

Think he’s done anyway after this inning? Or does he get another chance? His pitch count is already rather high.

  • Gunter

did i just hear Nippert yell F*** into his glove?

  • S. Arcasm

If I lived in Cleveland I would refuse to be an Indian fan just to avoid listening to that annoying drum every freaking game!

  • Jack Daddy

Not to be the wet blanket, but I too think it goes to the end. Only I hate to say, I think we fall short.

  • Fox

I said the same thing here in my house but without the glove

  • alan

Hey guys what did I miss 5-0 look like nothing much looks like we got them right where we watn them ?????

  • Win's Dad

Tom Grieve – AFLAC trivia answer?

  • The Beer Guy

At this point, I’m beyond being angry at these kinds of series. I almost come to expect it, so I just rolled my eyes. I sort of wish we played leading teams the rest of the way out…we can’t dominate the losers.

  • Rangers Fan

Knowing Wash he will go back out there…maybe he has a short leash but he’ll go out there…

  • Gunter

Why was the last Senators game forfeited? I don’t remember that story.

  • Fox

Here come the “The opposing pitcher is pitching so well lately even though they are no good” excuses for the offense

  • Rangers Fan

    yes, he did.

@Jack Daddy: I tend to agree…but you know what, I’ll still be happy with the season.

Think about the 2011 rotation…Holland, Feliz, Perez!

  • Gunter

Why do they keep claiming Laffey is a groundball pitcher? I swear there have been 6 balls go to the warning track through 32/3.

  • Fred

If Murph gets over or under that one a tad, it’s a run

  • Jack Daddy

This games sux. Was hoping for a great game. Even left work early, sick, to watch it.

Like Fred said, can’t leave 5 runners on in 2 innings. I have reached the point where I don’t have any confidence in Josh.

  • scooper

@Win’sDad: I don’t know, but that is an excellent guess.

  • Jack Daddy

That call is horrible. He touched it.

  • Rangers Fan

    oh boo…that pitcher touched it.

  • Fox

    Bad call

  • Ryans Dad

    That call sucks

  • alan

look all dont worry we like to play down to the competion

  • Rangers Fan

The real question tonight is, where is Evan?? Date night?

  • Fred

Did Rangers broadcast show Youklas run down a fleeing Pocello and sack him? Looked like Joe Ad**** chasing Gomez to the clubhouse in the Polo Grounds.

  • CW

Is Ron paying attention to this game? First the Choo HBP where he’s standing on the plate, now that foul ball…..get out there and make them at least talk about it!

  • The Beer Guy

I think he didn’t touch it. It looked close, but the ball didn’t look like it shifted trajectory from that, just from hitting the ground.

  • Jack Daddy

I haven’t seen the stats, but I’m willing to be that we have one of the lowest avgs in the league with runners at third and less than 2 outs. O for 2 tonite.

I could smash the third base umpire’s face like a jelly.

  • Fred

@Evan–your censors are working over time. As you probably, the Braves 1B I was talking about was Joe Ad****. That’s really funny.

  • Fox

So now he is throwing strikes? This looks like one of those games.

  • Fox

How about Nippert not walking in a circle like a tough guy after a K when he has already given up 5 runs

  • Fred

Strange thing on the Andrus play, was Elvis never ran. Did he foul it off himself? Pitcher’s glove definitely touched it. Even Cleve announcers thought so

  • Fox

@Fred: And it was weird that Wash didnt argue. There must be an angle we dont know about.

  • Rangers Fan

Dang I want the boston video…

  • Fred

I think managers roaring out and jawing is over rated. Do you really think there’s no chirping going on. Plus, did you notice Elvis standing at he plate while the questionable foul was called? Kinda takes away some arguing leverage.

  • DC

Hit Elvis in the arm on bounce.

  • alan

i notice the blog is much more lively when we are losing

  • scooper

I think it hit Elvis. Otherwise, surely he would have run.

  • scooper

Hey, Alan! What do you think about Perez to Frisco?

  • Fox

I am saying that if it was as cut and dry a bad call as everyone is saying Ron would of at least come out of the dugout. The fact that he did nothing means than most likely we are wrong.

  • Ryans Dad

    We suck

  • alan

is it me or do we always get beat by some spare pitcher who next time put there will give up 6 runs or so and it is night like there that confirm to me that the hitting will undo us this year and I know is is not the coaches fault? right

  • Rangers Fan

5-0 is not insurmountable. We need to chip away…

  • alan

love it scooper 18 yrs no wonder they didnt want to trade him

  • The Beer Guy

It seems like we have bad scouting reports on pitchers, or bad game plans prepared for them, or something like that.

  • Jack Daddy

Some days are diamonds. I was kind of tired of losing heart breakers.

  • Fox

This is another of those parks that Evan wrote about where it allows very few homeruns. Usually does not bode well for the Rangers.

  • Fred

    Kid’s got a 3.58 ERA. Not entirely a spare.

  • scooper

Laffey doesn’t have the rep, yet, but he is not just a scrub. But we can’t be leaving that many men on base. I put it on the hitters. And Nippert just lost it in that inning (not that the first 2 were great).

  • Ryans Dad

    Nippert sucks

  • The Beer Guy

It’s funny how the view on TV appears to be much better than the announcers have. Either that or Josh is ridiculously optimistic. No one thought that Byrd hit was doing anything except flying into the CF’s glove. Why Josh’s voice rose like it might be a hit or homer, I’m not sure.

You know, maybe it’s considered unprofessional or counterproductive, but sometimes I think it would be good to have announcers who got angry/frustrated (along with the fans) in games like these. I really don’t want to hear them joking around like nothing’s wrong.

  • Rangers Fan

Oh Andrus…it’s been a while since we saw one of those.

  • scooper

that is lack of concentration on a routine play.

  • DC

    CD catches that .

  • scooper

@DC: I don’t know. That was pretty high.

  • DC

But he’s 6 inches taller than hank to start.

  • alan

well to me it seems like every spare/ordinary pitcher makes u look like a triple a team in my humble opinion

  • alan

    4-3 red sox

  • Ryans Dad

    Cleveland Sucks

  • The Beer Guy

Well, nice recovery job by Nippert I must say.

  • scooper

Now I’m curious. How tall is Hank and how tall is Chris?

  • Rangers Fan

    Chris is tall..Hank is short.

  • Last of the Romohicans

@The Beer Guy – Angry announcers bemoaning everything that goes wrong is bad for Viewership. Most people watching are something less than Romohicans or Cornerians. The job of the announce team is to keep things as interesting as possible.

Remember, even Harry Caray was fired for being too negative.

  • Rangers Fan

Why oh why are we forced to watch this guy play…

  • alan

885 strikeouts lets go for 890 tonight for the year

  • Texas_Rocks

I asked this the other day, but if we’re going to have a guy stand then and strike out, would you rather it be CD or AJ?

  • Rangers Fan

    ok maybe not

    Hank 6’1
    Chris 6’4

  • Fred

@BG-Don’t think book on Laffey was bad, we just didn’t capitalize on the opportunities we had early, and got some bad breaks, like the DP on Hammy’s shot in the 1st. Suspect Laffey may have been part of the reason to let Lee go. Pretty good ground ball lefty

  • scooper

    @rangersfan: thanks!

  • scooper

@texas: I would much rather see Chris. Period.

  • Ryans Dad

    Murphy and Blalock suck

  • Rangers Fan

CD needs to be up here…fast! I kind of doubt it it’s before September though.

  • Fred

Yeah, I’d like to see Chris at 1B, too.

  • Fox

@scooper: dont you think CD will be on his way soon?

  • The Beer Guy

Welp, they’re gonna have to come back without me. I have a going-away party to attend. Was going to go late (post-game), but this stinks and is no competition for the beer that awaits me there. Go Rangers! Talk to y’all tomorrow.

  • DC

AJ should be dfa today and bring CD back.

  • scooper

Everything I heard when they sent him down said that the team told him that he was being sent down to get himself right, that he was a big part of the future. If that is true, you can’t just tell him now that “You did what we wanted you to do, but we don’t have room for you right now.” If they wait until the roster expands, that’s what they are saying to him.

  • Fred

Murph, who had a hit in the 2nd, and MY have prolly been the Rangers 2 best hitters since his horrendous start. if he sucks, we’re in deep trouble and extremely licky to be in the race.

  • Fox

One positive for Nippert is he is saving the bullpen

  • Fox

    Man Nippert is dealing

  • Rangers Fan

I completely agree Scooper. What does it take for them to make that move.

This game reminds me of that Holland start a while ago…lots of strikeouts and a lot of runs…

  • scooper

Yep, Nippert has made a major comeback. He just earned himself another chance. I was wondering about that after the way he started the game.

  • Jack Daddy

My guess as to why cd isn’t back up yet is bc the brass hasn’t seen enough of what they need to see. I’m sure they just aren’t looking at numbers, but his swing. They held on for so long before they sent him down that I could only assume if they thought he was ready, they would bring him back.

They can’t get this wrong. His career hangs in the balance. You don’t want to send him down again 3 weeks later (heck, at all). It could ruin him. These guys have proven to be aggresive with promotions. We have to trust them.

  • Fox

The issue with trading AJ for CD is that it leaves them without a right hand power bat.

  • Ryans Dad

    Trinidad & Tobago sucks

  • Fred

Evan can’t use the excuse of hitting the reporters chow line or down in the club house getting a story, tonite. He must be officially slacking (unless he’s been arrested)!

  • TCUWags

Anybody remember when the deadline to sign draft picks is? And, how are we doing in that department?

  • scooper

@RangersFan: I’m thinking it is because of Kinsler and Cruz. Before Kins went on the DL, they needed a roster spot for an extra infielder. Now Cruz can’t play, but isn’t on the DL, so they are forced to carry an extra outfielder. When Cruz can play (or goes on the DL), that’s when I think they should bring up Chris.

  • DC

Font pitching in hickory tonight 5in 2 hits 0 runs 3 walks 4 SO.

  • Rangers Fan

    Aug 17

  • Ryans Dad

    The ump sucks

  • scooper

@fox: they don’t have to trade AJ for Chris – they just have to make sure that everyone on the 25 can actually play. Earlier, they were carrying 8 relief pitchers. Then it was an extra infielder. Now, it is an extra outfielder.

  • TCUWags

    @Rangers Fan: Thanks!

  • Rangers Fan

    Sounds like the smartest plan…

  • Fred

@Jack-I dunno, he’s cut down on the K, hitting to opposite field. Looks like power is down a bit, so prolly shortened swing. Sounds like better pitch recognition, with the W’s, but haven’t seen him. Still wish he was up

  • Fred

Ump always sucks when you’re losing

  • scooper

Nippert is at 104 pitches. Does he go back out or is he done? I think he’s done because he hasn’t pitched that much this year.

  • DC

Davis had a homer and single to left last night.

  • Ryans Dad

    Young sucks

  • DC

CD has 15 walks 30 SO which is about what you want from a power guy.

  • Rangers Fan

This team without Kinsler and a 0/4 young…we are going to struggle.

Well guys, taking a break…hopefully be back during a comeback!

  • Fred

    Go CD!

  • alan

i think a lost tonight and a win by the red sox and angels and all the momentum is gone I think a playoff team comes in here and kicks some tail no well its just one of those games well how many of those games have we had this year and the excuses of why we dont reak of rangers past

  • alan

    6-3 redsox

  • Fred

Well, respect Nippert for eating the innings. One inning used to always spoil his night. Dejavu all over again.

  • Fred

Don’t tink Youklas will be suspended in time for Rangers, too bad–but he’ll lose 3 games for that one. Loved watching it tho. That’s the way a man charges the mound.

  • Win's Dad

Red Sox lead 6-3. Top 6.

  • Win's Dad

I’m having difficulty getting on the CD bandwagon. He’s a Scott Boras client, and that story never has a happy ending for Ranger fans.

  • Fred

Time to start chippin’ away. In fact, way past time. Paying again for not coming thru with RISP

  • Last of the Romohicans

@WAGS – that doesn’t apply to Scheppers, however. They say he used up his whatever, and isn’t bound by the deadline.

Purke, however, does have to be done by Monday.

  • TCUWags

    @Last of the Romohicans

    appreciate it

  • TEUFELI

Boy I just caught last 2 innings…just by listening to TAG/Lewin…I’d swear I had missed the surefire Performance of the Year at next years ESPY’s…and they wonder why people call them homers.

  • Ryans Dad

    Jones sucks

  • DC

    AJ SUCKSSSSSSSSS

  • Evan Grant

@All: Spent a nice evening out having a delightful French dinner. Yeah, French. That’s right, I said it.

Doesn’t look like I missed much here.

  • Fred

@Last-That’s why he’s desperately trying to play the Japan card

  • scooper

@Last & WAGS: when Scheppers pitched in the indie league, he lost his amateur status and his college eligibility. That’s why we have until just before the next draft to sign him.

  • Evan Grant

@Fred: You know that French food. Takes a long time to prepare and all, but I must say that the meal was a really pleasant surprise.

  • TCUWags

wondering more about Purke – with the TCU connection and all

  • Evan Grant

@All: I mentioned this to our little group at Frisco last night, but I believe the critical negotiation point for Scheppers begins on Aug.18 and runs through the end of the month. The Rangers want him at Instructional League and if he’s not signed and in Arizona by then, I expect the club will take a much harder stance.

  • RAT

    I don’t like the Rangers offense…

  • Ryans Dad

    Cabrrera sucks

  • DC

Evan either one of them have boras as agent ?

  • Jack Daddy

Nippert had a very nice recovery tonight. kept competing and showed the guts that VP never showed.

@RAT: Any lineup with a guy like AJ hitting fourth can not be dynamic. The only thing he does well is to take walks.

  • Win's Dad

Andruw’s 0-3 tonight brings his post-ASB average down to .190.

hi all!!! someone (me) forgot that games don’t start at 9pm when they’re in cleveland.

just turned it on and heard about someone charging the mound? was that in the boston game? or did someone try to go at nippert? and if so, did nolan jump and and start swinging?

i feel so lost. although the score shows me all i need to know. ugh.

  • Evan Grant

@DC: Neither has Boras. Purke’s agent is based in Houston.

  • scooper

@Becca: Youkilis charged Porcello. Both were ejected.

  • becca

didn’t one of them have an agent that works with nolan’s business partner or something like that? i might be making it up.

  • becca

    thank you scoops!

  • RAT

    Sit down Murphy!

  • scooper

    @becca: Yeah, Purke.

  • RAT

Sit down Salty! And quit swinging at balls over your head!

  • RAT

Sit down Elvisy! Rangers offense = incredible.

  • Ryans Dad

Life sucks. Good evening to all, hope you enjoyed my “pithy” commentary tonight. Was about as compelling as this game wasn’t it?

  • TCUWags

    @Ryans Dad
was this Ryan’s Dad … or Ryan?

  • southwick

You can’t really say anything bad about Nipert’s 5 run inning, when we can’t manage a single run.

  • B. Money

southwick – agree! Being down changed a few things in the game (maybe Salty or Andrus bunts Blalock in if you’re tied or down 1). . . but for the most part, getting shutout means it doesn’t matter how many you gave up.
