Bob – Can you ask about the local kid – Jared Jeffrey ? How is he doing at Club Brugee in Belgium ? He is on the U-20 USA team. Is he in the future plans for WC in 2014 ?

@Da Blade – Adu didn’t make the roster, and probably won’t be on the WC roster for South Africa either. I wouldn’t say he is “all” hype, just over-hyped. He has some skill, but just hasn’t developed much. He has not played a lot overseas, and it has hurt him quite a bit.

I only follow futbol from a distance, but my interest heightens around WC time. The World Cup is so freakin’ dramatic, and even more so when us Americans do better than expected. I hope I live to see the day when the USA beats Brazil or Argentina or England in a WC Final!

BTW, what up with Freddy Adu? Does he not warrant a mention? Is he proving to be all hype?

Kudos Bob, you continue to bring something to the table here at the Corner. I am a huge sports fan, so I love getting more than just my baseball fix here. I too enjoy the soccer and ufc chats…wouldn’t mind some thoughts on them outside of the chats either. who knows maybe even get Evan to watch and get his input….I am talkin crazy.

Good call on doing a soccer column! The only way the sport will grow in the U.S. is if people in the media like the Sturminator use their platform to get the masses talking. UFC and soccer?!?! I knew I should have put my hand on the small of Bob’s back and whispered “Thank you” at the Rangers game the other night.

Soccer has taken a good piece of my sportsdom heart ever since the last world cup. Watching a US international game is probably one of my favorite things to do. Unfortunately, the level of play in the MLS is just not good enough to get me that interested in watching it. But i hope it continues to grow because I love the game of soccer and want to see it flourish in the states especially as the US Mens team continues to get better and better

@ Chadb – I don’t know if that MUN2 is HD. The listing on the guide would usually say MUN2HD if it were. I think it’s just a standard channel put in twice to make it look like we have 5000 channels. Pity. At least MUN2 WILL be aired in English.
