Greetings from Amsterdam again. Hazelle and Kittin Klonhammer both here. We’re going to watch the first part of the game with you folks again. Like this talk here very much. Greetings everyone from beautiful, scenic section 215 where both teams are again wearing their softball uniforms. Don’t want to get off on this subject again tonight, but is a Mench Rangers jersey appropriate at the game? I’m not wearing it but I saw one in the parking lot.

Today’s an excellent day to imagine life in an alternate universe where the Red Sox had never broken through and won the World Series. They’d be much more likely to fold and lose the Wild Card to the Rangers and I would not be reading headlines that combined the words “Schilling” and “Senate”.

@Just Saying: The decision on first and third was a one-day deal. Manager Ron Washington said that he will move Chris Davis back to first tomorrow and that Esteban German and Omar Vizquel would share time at third. But, I’ll say this: You can’t just put Blalock at the end of the bench and forget about him. You’ve got to keep him involved in some respect and if that means an occasional start, it’s going to come at 1B or DH these days.

Evan, I dont mind hank getting 2-3 starts the rest of the year, I just hope it doesnt become a regular thing.

When Beltre came back from surgery on his testicles (after getting hit with a grounder while not wearing a cup) Griffey had his at-bat music switched to the theme from the Nutcracker. Great stuff.

Since the Angels laid ten on the Mariners Monday, they’ve scored one single run in the following two games. I like that trend. They just may go cold, and couldn’t be at a better time.

If he hasn’t been through something like that before (remember my post last night about MY and the hammy?) he wouldn’t necessarily know what it was, so he wouldn’t know if he was really injured.

RF,if you have been thru that it feels like you ripped a muscle, it burns and feels like you cant move for awhile.
If that is it that is a good thing, as the scar tissue breaks down you get full range back.

@JustSaying: Haven’t looked at how many pitches per at bat. The obvious difference is the pitcher hitting. I’m also not a fan of bunting. I hate giving the other team a free out. NL teams give away a lot more outs. There have to be other reasons, but those are the first two that come to mind.

The throw back the homer is a huge rip off. At least wipe your rear with it before you throw it in.

@justsaying = there is a ton of money in the metroplex that could buy this team. However, its a stupid investment, a dog. The stadium sits in the middle of the dessert. It will never make money out there.

Listen, don’t take my work for it -i’m just a working grunt that can’t seem to avoid living paycheck to paycheck. But I work for some heavy hitters that have friends in high places. That opinion comes from the money elite in this city.

Purchasing baseball teams is more complicated beacause the other owners have to approve the sale so it is not an open market. The rumour is that MLB and the owners will not approve a sub 600 sale because it will effect the value of their teams. It is a mess and may result in MLB taking the team over until the economy rebounds and a buyer will pay the asking price (hopefully not).

irish, the angels beat bad pitching and win a few against tough pitching, If we canstay close until we play them our pitching will prevail.

@fox – that is most probably exactly what will happen.

These are the Angels that have been on quite the tear this season. I would say an almost monumental tear. Second only to that of the Rockies two years ago, does anyone remember what happened to them when they finally cooled off and ran into some fine pitching?

tom b makes a lot of sense……it sure changes the dynamic in the clubhouse…..and i think for the better…….it just doesn’t make sense to pay $6mil for a pinch hitter…..

I would look at trading millwood in the off season but only if we get a good return.
Hank and jones are gone, padilla will be off the books.
Byrd will probably get a huge offer so he will be off the books.
As a buyer the rangers would be very attractive.
They still draw well, they are set up to make an extended run in the playoffs.
They have a lot of young players so the payroll could actually drop even farther for a few years.
If you are going to sell this is the perfect time to do it for max profit.
