I agree on the Feldman Cy Young conversation, but with that being said, if CC continues his momentum, it's his to lose.

Feldy prolly has what, 4 or 5 starts left in him? If the voters look at his road record, he might have a shot. Beckett has fallen off, Grienke might have the ERA, but his wins and team aren't helpin much, Halliday MIGHT be starting to regain his momentum, and Verlander is staying in it as well.

I'd like to see Feldy try and get his era in the mid 3's, but it might take more than that....

On a funny note, the camera showed Mad Dog briefly last night and my girlfriend asked who that was. I said its a young relief pitcher who has sucked in the majors. She asked me why is he there then, and I said they have extra roster spots and Mad Dog can come in when the game is a ten run advantage to either team.

Even if he only pitches to one batter, he is still not available tomorrow. The organization has already proven that. Why not put the game in the bag?

Wash's use of Neftali just shows he doesn't trust anyone in the bullpen but Feliz, CJ, and Francisco. He didn't want to let a 5-1 get away so he used Feliz to shut them down the rest of the game.

I agree with the use of Feliz. At the point he was brought into the game, one bomb right there and it's a 1-run game. (I think we all agree that was a good point to bring him in and don't forget that is a little league park.) The Orioles record is a reflection of their pitching, NOT their hitting. They can still score runs and a 4-run cushion is nice but certainly not a given.

Maybe, we get someone else for the 9th but the only other 2 i want to see if either Franky or CJ (remember Grilli in NY). Forget the OKC bullpen arms. We saved both those guys and Neftali should be available Sunday. The every other day usage of him is absolutely perfect.

I, for one, don't have a problem with Wash's handling of Feliz last night. You worry about the game in front of you, not what is going to happen the next day. What if the Rangers come out and score 8 in the first today and tomorrow and cruise to victory? Then Feliz probably doesn't get used at all. He was going to be used last night, he hadn't pitched since Tuesday.

Great win! I was thrilled to see Wash bring in Feliz. Now that he has the tools, Wash is showing that he is the manager we hoped he would be.

Evan -- do yourself a favor and hire a proofreader. You leave out at least one word every time you make an entry.

Congrats to Feldman and the team for getting to this point--being in the heat of a pennant race! I, too, don't understand Wash and Maddox's use of Feliz with a 4 run lead. There are plenty of bullpen arms up from OKC who could have come in to pitch the 8th & 9th. I guess the braintrust wanted to give Feliz some experience at closing, without the pressure of facing the tying or go-ahead runners just yet.

Do you think that Maddox will tinker with Feliz's delivery over the winter? He seems to throw all with his arm, and not use his legs much. That arm will wear down real quick. Surely Nolan and Mike see this.

The Angels beat KC while being outhit 11 to 3, thanks to KC walking 8. Still, it's a trend over the Angels last several games they are definitely losing some steam, could make this even more interesting.

I'm not sure I am understanding Wash's rational on using Feliz. Does he think The O's are pushovers and The Rangers should sweep, no matter what? Did he think he wanted to bag #1 and let 2 & 3 take care of themselves? Did he stay late at Fell's Point where I once counted 87 bars in a very small few block area? (I was doing statistical work and became one.) There used to be a place called "The Block" which would challenge anyones perception of reality. Maybe Wash was out turning over some old stones. I'm hangin' w/Th Man...'til he messes up once more. This is Race Time.....Pennant Race Time.
