To me, Holland looks much more mentally fatigued than physical. Also, it apppears to me that he, more so than others, misses MY being in the lineup. MY is always there to pat him on the bak and offer some encouragement.

This team has had a most excellent season. The pieces are in place for years to come (rather than there being missing pieces to find). They should be proud of this season as they have showed the toughness and resiliency to stay in the hunt. I still believe they can catch one of the teams (Angels/RedSox), but this experience will be invaluable down the road when they contend for the division championship regualrly for the next several years eventually leading to the elusive World Series championship they will ultimately win.

"his stuff". Lately ever time it's around the plate it gets hammered. I can see where you would nibble and go 3-2 on most every batter.

Millwood is 34 while Holland is 21. Holland is in his SECOND major league season. Millwood is in the twilight of a career while Holland is at the beginning. You give talented young pitchers plenty of runway so they can develop.

Personally I think the Rangers handled Feliz right and Holland wrong. Holland should have spent the first half of the season at AAA like Feliz.

Although this stretch is tough and the Rangers may not make it to the post season the way some of their pitchers are performing right now. I still am optimistic. Holland is learning, he has a ways to go. Remember he is only 22 and this is his first season. Yes, it is tough to watch when he pitches right now, especially since it seems that hitters are so keyed in on him and his location is a bit off. One may recall, Hernandez of the Mariners was this type of pitcher a couple of years ago and look at him now. Patience with the young pitchers will pay off. I'm looking forward to Harrison coming back.
I do not like the way Millwood is pitching and although I think he is sincere when he says he is working on the issues he is currently having I can't help but think that age is catching up to him. Not sure if the 180 inning note in his contract was such a good idea for the Rangers but I think they are kinda stuck with it now.
If certain things fall into place and the team plays well against the Angels they still have a shot but either way this has been a great season so far and fun to watch. Its really nice to be able to see this team contend and I think this is just the beginning.

I think you can still put Holland down for the rotation in '10. Good grief, the kid's good. I just think his arm is tired. Maybe he's mentally tired, too. The long major league season does that to you. He'll be fine next year. Probably good. Just think about how the Tigers brought along their young pitchers and allowed them to suck every now and then.

But I'm definitely for Feliz in the pen. Probably the future closer. Better suited than Frankie.

Incredible double standard between Millwood and Holland. They both suck. Holland more so and longer than Millwood.

'10 rotation: Feldman/Hunter/McCarthy/Millwood/FA
Holland and Feliz in the pen
