A couple of things. Good point Evan about the team’s desires relative to the type of teammate they want. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that Bradley comes back to the Rangers. Secondly, I think you overestimate Byrd’s value/popularity in the clubhouse and with management. He won’t be back either.

@just saying – Lucas has it wrong. It was $12MM this year PLUS a $1.75 buyout for next year. Google it. YOu’ll get dozens of confirmations. Plus, its on wikipedia, so it must be right since anyone can update it. The Office joke.

@JustSaying – I believe he has the buyout included in that $12MM(I believe the salary was only $10MM)

@RF – not saying he doesn’t need it (I would rather wait to see how he looks in Spring Training), but I don’t think you keep running him out there in a pennent race and then put him in AAA to start the next year for more seasoning. Doesn’t make sense. Now, if he looks like he doesn’t get it in Spring Training, that’s a different story. I don’t think anyone’s job is guaranteed and there will be some competition.

But stuff wise, he throws the hardest and misses the most bats of all our starters (unless you count Feliz in that category).
