Garrett's biggest job from the look of things is to manage Romo and his tendency to make turn overs, with his wild ways, be they fumbles or INTs.

What is the team record when the offense has no turn overs?

Bob,

Since you are decoding Garrett, you might be interested in reading this study:

Game Theory and Major League Sports
http://www.nber.org/digest/oct09/w15347.html

Findings: Football teams pass less than they should. The researchers conclude that “correcting these decisionmaking errors could be worth more than a half win per season for a professional football team.”

Enjoy.

Great stuff as usual, Bob and crew.
A word of warning though, you may not want to attach the D logo at the end of these videos. I had a long standing youtube account deleted entirely years ago after posting some Cowboys highlights. No biggie, if that happens, make a new one. Still, I shudder to think what the No Fun League's lawyer could do to you guys.

The Hamlin acquisition, a few years back, was odd to say the least. He's another Roy Williams.

So scape-goat Roy is gone, and the problems are the same.

Not that I'd prefer Roy, I don't think either one of them are ideal for today's NFL game. Maybe 1995, but not 2009.

The in-the-box safety is a dinosaur.

Great stuff sports bully, I'd bet there are some NFL teams don't have it broke down this well, you could probably help the Lions out alot. Keep it up, and thanks

I agree with you more than Gruden or Jaworski on Hamlin's coverage. On both of those passes, his first concern was obviously helping over the top with Smith.

My only adjustment to that scheme would be to use the #2 corner w/ safety help on their #1 receiver. That way the #1 corner can match up against their #2 receiver and (presumably) shut him down.

ALL of our DB's are an absolute embarrassment when it comes to their tackling. Even when they do happen to take a guy down 1 on 1 in the open field, it's still not a solid fundamental tackle.
